In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Aberhale like this:

ABERHALE, a township in Tregynon parish, Montgomery; 5½ miles N of Newtown.

The location is that of "New House", as marked on the OS 1:25,000 map. This is a very tentative location for the township, based on scattered genealogical sources indicating that New House/Ty Newydd was within Aberhale township.
