The manor belongs to D. H. L. Warren, Esq. A black friary was founded here in the time of Richard I., and became a cell to Pentney in 1468. There was also a castle. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich. Value, £56. Patron, the Bishop of N. The church was reported in 1859 as bad. There are a national school, and charities £10.
