Woodville, a mansion in Colinton parish, Edinburghshire, ½ mile SW of Colinton village. It was the home, from 1831, of the Rev. Arch. Alison (1757-1831), author of Essays on Taste; and at it died his eldest son, Professor Wm. Pulteney Alison (1790-1859).Ord. Sur., sh. 32, 1857.
