Hucknall Torkard, town and par. (ry. sta. Hucknall), in co. and 8 miles NW. of Nottingham, 3270 ac., pop. 10,023; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks; is a populous place with extensive collieries. The church (rebuilt 1873) contains the tomb of Lord Byron (1788-1824).
