Knighton.-- market town and par. with ry. sta., Radnorshire, on river Teme, 6 miles S. of Presteigne and 160 miles NW. of London--par., 2461 ac., pop. 1905: town, 570 ac., pop. 1720; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Thursday. Knighton is beautifully situated amid an undulating and finely wooded country. Offa's Dyke is close beside the town, and Caer Caradoc is about 3 miles distant. The mfrs. are unimportant. Knighton formed one of the Radnor District of Parliamentary Boroughs, which returned 1 member until 1885.
