Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Wytham, (or Witham)

Wytham.-- (or Witham), par. and vil., Berks, in N. of co.- par., 1165 ac., pop. 198; vil., 2½ miles NW. of Oxford; P.O. Wytham Abbey is the seat of the Earl of Abingdon. On Wytham Hill, in former times, stood a Saxon castle.
