Lydd, market town and par. with ry. sta., Kent, 3½ miles SW. of New Romney, 12,015 ac. (152 water) and 988 foreshore, pop. 2129; P. O., T.O. Market-day, Thursday. Lydd is an ancient town, and a corporate member of the Cinque Port of Romney. There is a Government artillery range here.
