(Sutton, 14 mile E.), Notts, 3 miles SW. of Mansfield and 13 miles N. of Nottingham - par., 6083 ac., pop. 10,551; town and township, 4855 ac., pop. 8523; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank, 1 newspaper. Market-day, Saturday. The church of St Mary (1390) was restored in 1868. There are mfrs. of hosiery. Sutton has a large provision market and important stock fairs.
