GRANTHAM AND NOTTINGHAM CANAL, a canal in Lincoln, Leicester, and Notts; westward, from Grantham to the Trent near Nottingham. It was formed in 1793; is 30 miles long; passes Woolsthorpe on a level; and descends thence 147½ feet, by Barkeston, Harby, Kinoulton, Stragglethorpe, and Cotgrave, to the Trent.
