Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for FLAMBARDS

FLAMBARDS, a mansion in Harrow-on-the-Hill parish, Middlesex; 9½ miles WNW of London. It took its name from Sir John Flambard, who resided here in the time of Edward III. It passed to the Gerards, the Pages, and the Lords Northwick; it was rebuilt, on an extended scale, by one of the Lords Northwick; and it contains some paintings by the Italian masters, and many Greek and Roman medals.
