Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for BLACKLOW HILL

BLACKLOW HILL, a small wooded-eminence, near Guy's Cliff, 1½ mile N of Warwick. A stone cross on it commemorates that Piers Gaveston, Earl of Cornwall, the minion of Edward II., was beheaded here in 1312. The hill commands a delightful and diversified view.
