SALTERFORTH, a township in Barnoldswick parish, W. R. Yorkshire; on the Leeds and Liverpool canal, 8 miles S W by W of Skipton. Acres, 1, 650. Pop. in 1851, 573; in 1861, 424. Houses, 92. Hand-loom weaving was largely carried on, but has decreased.
