ASKHAM-BRYAN, or East Askham, a parish in the district and county of York; 2 miles NNW of Copman thorpe r. station, and 3½ SW of York. Post Town, York. Acres, 1,920. Real property, £4,124. Pop., 362. Houses, 68. The property is divided among a few. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of York. Value, £120.* Patron, W. Morris, Esq. The church is old but good. A school has £10 from endowment, and other charities £24.
