In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Sudbury like this:
Sudbury, hamlet (ry. sta. Sudbury and Wembley), Harrow on the Hill par., Middlesex, 3 miles NW. of Willesden Junction by rail and 2 SE. of Harrow; P.O.; in vicinity is Sudbury Hall, seat.
