Place:

Mown Rakes  Lincolnshire

In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Mown Rakes like this:

RAKES-FARM, an extra-parochial tract in Boston district, Lincoln; near Swineshead. Pop., 4. House, 1.

The location is that of "Rakes Farm", as it is named on modern 1:25,000 maps, or "Rakes Ho." as it appears on the OS First Series map. The parish is identified just to the west of Swineshead on the 1888 Diagram of the Sanitary Districts of Lincolnshire.
