Post Town, Wantage. Acres, 1,775. Real property, £3,518. Pop., 354. Houses, 78. Ardington House was the residence of Clarke the antiquary, and the seat of Robert Vernon, Esq., who collected here the "Vernon Gallery" of pictures, which he left to the nation, and died in 1849. ...
The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Oxford. Value not reported.* Patron, Christ's Church, Oxford. The church is good, and has a tomb of R. Vernon.
