Group of islands off the northwestern coast of Europe. The group consists of two main islands, Great Britain and Ireland, and numerous smaller islands (Encyclopædia Britannica). Current administrative unit coverage is mostly limited to Great Britain, i.e. England, Wales and Scotland.
