This unit has been constructed for statistical reporting purposes only. It has no legal existence.
London and Middlesex were always two quite separate Administrative Counties, until they were both abolished in 1965 with the creation of the Greater London Council, but they were listed together in the Farm Census from the 1930s to the 1960s, and also by the Land Utilisation Survey of Great Britain.
